SADC students

The SADC member countries are: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

How SADC students’ fees are calculated for each year of registration

Fee per course/s selected + non-refundable SADC administration fee of R3 750

Students have the option of paying:

  1. the total fee for the year (tuition and housing)
  2. an initial (minimum) payment whereby the rest of the fees are paid in full by 30 June 2019.

Fees are due prior to registration or latest by Friday 1 February 2019.

Tuition fee initial payment for SADC students     

Course fee R25 500 + SADC admin fee R3 750 = total of R29 250

PhD full-time international fee-paying students: full fees + R3 750

 

On-campus housing fee initial payment (if applicable)

Catered residence: R31 000

Self-catered residence: R20 000

 

Non-SADC students

How international fees are calculated for each year of registration

Fee per course/s selected + faculty international term fee (ITF) + non-refundable administration fee of R3 750

Students have the option of paying:

  1. the total fee for the year
  2. an initial (minimum) payment whereby the rest of the fees are paid in full by 30 June 2019.

This is due prior to registration or latest by Friday 1 February 2019.

Tuition fee initial payment for all non-SADC students    

Undergraduate degrees full-time international fee paying students R90 000
Honours degrees full-time international fee paying students R90 000
Masters (Coursework and dissertation) full-time international fee paying students R60 000
Research Masters degree full-time international fee paying students Full fees + R3 750

PhD full-time international fee-paying students: 

Full fees + R3 750

On-campus housing fee initial payment (if applicable)

Catered residence: R31 000

Self-catered residence: R20 000

Special circumstance students

Initial (minimum) payments

Documented, Official refugees (must have the RSA ID refugee book) R25 500
Documented asylum seekers R25 500
Rwandese students (reg since 2012 charged tuition fee + R 3 750): R25 500
Students with diplomatic status (charged tuition fee + R3 750) R29 250
UCT staff or their dependents (HR supporting documents with approved amount)


Semester Study Abroad (SSA) students

The following fees apply to any student (regardless of nationality) taking courses for one or two semesters only that will not count towards obtaining a South African degree (but could count towards a degree in another country).

Package tuition fee:

Per semester cost in 2019: US$7 000
