Approximately 26 high level senior delegates attended the United Nations Leaders Programme, on the theme ‘Leadership for Transformation and Unity Building in the Workplace,’ 12 – 16 October 2015.  The Programme was convened at the River Club hosted by IAPO-STIP, in partnership with the UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) and SCEZONS. The Programme was first hosted at UCT in 2013.
Senior UN Directors from over 20 countries robustly engaged on critical concerns facing the workplace and the role of leadership. Participants shared their experiences and expertise, facilitated by respected session presenters.
The Programme Opening and Welcome was provided by Prof Evance Kalula, Director, IAPO, UCT; Dr Max Price, Vice-Chancellor, UCT; Prof Walter Baets, Director of the Graduate School of Business. Thomas Neufing and Dr Ariane Sabet, the UN System Staff College (UNSSC) Training Team, provided a brief overview of the purpose and objective of the Programme.  The keynote address was delivered by Dr Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, Deputy Executive Director and Assistant Secretary-General for UN-Habitat.
The United Nations delegates provided positive feedback and have proposed to host this programme annually at the University.
