Università Bocconi says 'Arrivederci' to UCT and Cape Town

A group of budding entrepreneurial student from the University of Bocconi touched down in Cape Town town 23 June 2019 to take part in a week-long, cross-cultural learning experience hosted by the Global Short Term Academic Programmes Unit.

The group, led by two faculty members from the Milan based institution, took part in a Social Entrepreneurship programme aimed at adding value to the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) studies.

Classes took place at at the University of Cape Town's world-class Graduate School of Business. Students were also exposed to business in formal and informal settings in Cape Town through various excursions to cultural and business hubs including the Solution Space in Philippi, the Early Child Development (ECD) centre in Mfuleni, as well as guided tours of Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.

The programmes academic courses were taught by UCT academics, Dr Elias Phaahla (Political Studies) and Mr Stuart Hendry (School of Applied Management Studies) from the Humanities and Commerce faculties.

Short and succinct, the programme was rich in knowledge and sharing of culture and new perspectives.
